Certain properties exist to function for certain types of people. This property is an excellent fit for anyone looking for superb value in an incredible location. The thrills are in the character of the building and the area you’re staying. The small attentions to detail make the property extra special and it’s clear that there’s care and love that has gone into making this place warm and welcoming. We had a few niggles in the India Room which we stayed in for three nights but which we gave feedback to the GM Vicki who was amenable and apologetic. Overall however we would stay again in the quieter months and when the winter sunshine makes Charleston pop.
Response from the owner 7 months ago Thank you for your wonderful review Matt, you really get what the hostel is all about! I appreciated your feedback so we can continue to improve. So glad you enjoyed the details and charm of the hostel. We’d love to host you again!

I love a good hostel and NotSo is right up there- comfortable, simple, clean and tidy. Our private toilet/small sink closet was great; the shared bathroom was excellent too- for the bigger tasks. I especially loved the classic sloped porch …
